PHS HAIRSCIENCE® ADV Soothe Range x Sample Store

Hello everyone!
I'm finally back on this blog after shifting to a domain, but I failed to keep that alive!

For those that do not know, I have been flying as a cabin crew for almost 5 years,
and life has been hectic but amazing in the past 5 years.
However, as a cabin crew, I have also had some problems that came up due to the constant jet setting,  the long hours of work, the radiation, and even the basic idea of wearing makeup & having my hair doused with hairspray on a daily basis.

Some months ago, I started noticing that my hair was becoming more sparse
(especially the crown area),
and the hair fall volume was just massive.
And yes, I panicked.
I finally caved and went in to see a specialist at a salon and had my scalp analysed.
It was only then that I finally understood the importance of a healthy scalp.
For my whole life, I was focused on having shiny, smooth hair, without a care for my scalp health.
AND YET, THE ONLY WAY TO HAVING SHINY, STRONG HAIR WAS TO TAKE CARE OF MY SCALP FIRST!!!

When Sample Store approached me to review this haircare range, I simply jumped at it!

PHS HAIRSCIENCE® has been a well known brand that I have heard of, but never tried.
And this was the perfect opportunity to!
I received the PHS HAIRSCIENCE® ADV Soothe Range that is suitable for dry and even the most sensitive scalp, and it is engineered for both MEN & WOMEN!
(No more buying separate shampoos for your other half & yourself! One bottle is all you need!)

I was excited to try the range out, and boy, I was simply blown away!
The very first hair washing experience with the Soothe shampoo, was simply a dream.
I came back home after a tiring long flight, and all I wanted to do that very moment was to be in a hot shower, to get my hair down and my makeup removed.
I had little or no expectations of using a scalp shampoo as I have previously been using the Aveda Invati range, and there was simply not much sensation on my scalp.
However, the Soothe shampoo had a cooling, minty sensation that was just mind blowing!
My scalp was instantly energised and refreshed!
The shampoo cleansed the hair spray out of my hair with no difficulty or residue left, and no dryness was felt on both my scalp and my hair.
Definitely suitable for dry scalp like mine!

Now, let's talk more about the products.

PHS HAIRSCIENCE® ADV Soothe Shampoo 200ml ($48)/ 1000ml ($210)

The Soothe shampoo comes with a pump that is easy to use and disperses the right amount of product.
It gently cleanses without stripping off the scalp's natural protective barrier,
soothes and calms irritations, and even strengthens to scalp's natural resistance!

Do you know, that our skin on the face, is very much alike to the scalp?
Damaging the natural protective barrier on both our skin and scalp, spells nothing but disaster.
In an attempt to wash off the dirt and grime of the day in humid Singapore,
many of us tend to think that a more potent dosage or formula for a shampoo, would mean a deeper or better cleanse.
However, this is absolutely wrong!
Therefore, the PHS HAIRSCIENCE® ADV Soothe Shampoo is the perfect scalp shampoo for anybody that wishes to have not only a good cleanse but to give our scalp the best preventive treatment.

KEY INGREDIENTS:
RICE STEM CELLS - Promotes scalp circulation
JASMINE EXTRACT- Antiseptic & anti-inflammatory
GREEN TEA LEAF EXTRACT- prevents oxidative damage that causes scalp irritation

PHS HAIRSCIENCE® ADV Nutrition Conditioner 200ml ($48)

After a good scalp cleanse, one cannot forget to nourish the ends of our hair.
The Nutrition Conditioner is an effective everyday hydrator that leave hair silky, soft, vibrant, shiny and healthy.
Now, who doesn't want that?

I love how the conditioner also has a slight cooling and refreshing sensation when applied, which makes the whole experience so sensorial.
It does not weigh down on your hair, and is not oily.
The PERFECT conditioner for everyday use!

PHS HAIRSCIENCE® Soothe Tonic 100ml ($108)

For many people, using a hair tonic in their hair care regime is not a common thing to do.
Some of us are ignorant of how beneficial it is to our scalp, and some (like the old me) are just too darn lazy. :p

The PHS HAIRSCIENCE® Soothe Tonic is something that I now enjoy using as the last step after a hair wash. It has a spray nozzle that helps to disperse the product on the scalp's surface so easily, that seriously, anybody can do it.

Its healing and restorative properties offers immediate relief to itching, redness or even swelling.
It also restores balance to sensitised scalp, and enhances the scalp's immune system so as to fight any inflammation.

KEY INGREDIENTS:
LOTUS STEM CELLS- Heals & Strengthens hair follicles
ROSEMARY EXTRACT- Improves blood circulation
- Anti-bacterial & Anti-inflammatory
JAPANESE PEPPER FRUIT EXTRACT- Healing and antibiotic properties

For those that are concerned with the ingredients in these range, fret not, as the products contain stem cells made with a high concentration of botanical essences and do not contain harmful additives like parabens, mineral oils or benzophenone.
(You can definitely use the range with a peace of mind!)

So after introducing the PHS HAIRSCIENCE® Soothe Range to my readers,
Sample Store was kind enough to extend free samples of this range to you guys!
You can redeem your free ADV Soothr Shampoo & Tonic at the following link:

Till next time,
I'm wishing all of you, a Happy New Year, and great hair days always!

Haul (I) January to March 2015!

Hello everyone!
I know I've been missing in action for too long a period of time.
& I will explain my reason why in time to come,
but for now..
How would you like to see some hauls that I have purchased over the last few months?

Let's dig in!

Some MAC goodies that I purchased with the courtesy of a Sephora Voucher.
As most of my followers might know, I'm a pretty big fan of MAC,
whether it is their blushers, highlighters, or lipsticks.
I have about 20 lipsticks from just MAC alone, & I seriously love the colour range.

Featured: MAC Blusher in Dolly Mix
MAC Paint Pot in Perky
MAC lipstick in Brave & Speak Louder

I have only tried the lipsticks & the paint pot from this purchase,
& I've got to say that I love them.
The paint pot gives a slightly salmon pink shade when applied to the lids,
which was just what I needed to counteract my discoloured/darkened eyelids.
It help to brighten the eye socket area up, and also kept my eye shadows in place for as long as I needed.

Lipstick wise, I love Brave for an everyday natural lip colour.
It has a slight pink/peach to it, which doesn't make me look washed out or dead.
The perfect "Your Lips But Better (YLBB)" for me!

I'm not sure if this baby is already in the SG market, or specifically in our Sephora.
But I received this about 2 months ago from my girlfriend, Joresar.
She bought this while she was in the States, and it is an absolute best buy.
I suffer from dry to normal skin.
Nothing flaky, or disgusting, but just the random tightness on the skin.
Therefore, this primer was a god send to me.

I felt that the smell was amazing, just like how it smells like on a tropical beach,
with beautiful coconut trees everywhere.
The coconut smell is pretty strong, so for those who dislike scents,
you might want to skip this.
I also absolutely love the ingredients.
Coconut water, electrolytes, and just everything good and hydrating plus rejuvenating for the skin,
sign me up!
It applied smoothly, leaving a slight dewy velvet texture.
Nothing too heavy, or greasy, and it preps the skin well for makeup application.
Makeup/foundation glides on fully, and skin feels nourished throughout the day.

Another purchase made only possible with Sephora/MAC vouchers from my friend, Emerson.
He gifted me a $200 voucher for my birthday, and I went a little cray at MAC.
Yes, $200 can get you some real good goodies, but maybe not as much as I expected.
Cos' girl, MAC ain't cheap..

Featured: MAC Prep & Prime Radiant Light Highlighter
MAC Miley Cyrus Viva Glam Lipstick
MAC Fix+
MAC Peachykeen Blusher (a repurchase, cos I'm running out of mine- MY HOLY GRAIL!)
MAC Prolong Wear Eyeliner in Black (a repurchase)

& finally, the most beautiful collection from MAC that I have gotten my hands on.
The MAC Toledo Collection!

Featured: MAC Oxblood Lip Glass
MAC Oxblood Matte Lipstick
MAC Ombre blusher in Ripe Peach & Kindergarten Red

Have yet to lay hands on any of this goodies from the Toledo collection,
cos they are all such beauties..
I WILL, SOON!!

Philosophy Microdelivery Peel Set (RTP: SGD$100)
I was lucky enough to get this product at 50% off for my birthday month,
and I must say that it is damn worth it.

I have used this treatment twice in the past 2 weeks, & have been loving it since.
The scrub is super gritty, yet still gentle on my delicate skin.
I massage the gritty crystals on my clean, dry face for about a minute,
concentrating on my problem areas like my cheeks & pigmented areas.
Followed by adding a teaspoon of the liquid and massaging it into the skin, on top of the crystals.
(warm sensation is a common occurrence, do not panic!)
After leaving it on for about 3 minutes, I wash it off with water.
& TADAH~ my skin is left beautiful, super baby soft, smooth & SO SO much brighter!

Perfect for an every week session of pampering,
or just before important occasions like a wedding, photo shoot, or even an interview!

I'm sorry that I haven't had the time to draft out blog posts like how I used to do..
I am however still very active on my Instagram on a daily basis!
So, feel free to follow me there! (@clarabeltan)

Till the next long awaited blog post,
xoxo!

Empties (II): January 2015!

It's finally February!!
A month that I have always loved, as it is my birthday month!

In the recent month or two, I have began a new job,
and am also awaiting a big dream job (currently in progress).
More news will be announced once I have settled all details,
so stay tuned to find out what I've been busy with.

For the 2nd Empties post. I would say that I have gone through a lot of products.
I've been trying to tighten my purse strings, to finish up my existing "STOCK" of prducts,
lying around at home.
I will be honest that, I have got products to last me years- both body care, skincare & makeup.
(guilty face)

An empties post have always been my favourite to read, as it really shows what products are good.
If they ain't, I won't bother using it.
& also, it gives me a really good & decent time frame to test out the products.
So here's what I have finished using, & what I love & maybe dislike too.

#1. SK2 Aura Essence (Serum)
I have recently become a serum junkie,
with about 8 serums loaded up in my stockpile, waiting for their turn to be used.
But why are serums my favourite?
Or why are they even important in my skincare regime?

Well, serums are generally power packed ingredients that are targetted at different skin issues.
There are serums for whitening, brightening, hydration, anti-aging etc.
& they are the one step that have really increased the efficacy of my skincare regime.

The SK-II Cellumination Aura Essence is an expensive product.
Although you can get it slightly cheaper at Duty Free Shops, or online,
it is still a pricey investment.
But I would say it is more than worth the money.

I have naturally dull and tan skin, and I have always hated it.
Therefore, when I first started using serums, brightening was my main purpose.
& boy oh boy did the SK-II Aura Essence did wonders.
It is potent & heavy duty, that brought about improvements almost immediately.
However, start off slow would be my advise, as I experienced dry skin & peeling at the start.
& how much do I love this product you may ask?
Well, I am already on my 2nd bottle.

The serum is thicker than most serums I have used, a creamy texture to be exact.
Slightly heavy on the skin.
But well, if it works, I don't care about how heavy or thick it is.

#2. Caudalie Beauty Elixir

My 3rd bottle as of yet.
Simply love this facial mist as it does give you dewy & fresh skin.
I often use this to refresh my makeup, or give a little spritz when my skin is feeling or looking lacklustre.
But yes, the expensive price tag to this bottle is the only reason why I would only use it for important occassions.

Slightly alcohol in nature, but does not strip the skin of its natural oils etc.
Refreshing, and just a wonder product.
It is possibly that kind of product where you absolutely love it, but can't put a finger to it.

#3. Vitamin Science Vit B Hydrating Serum
http://theperfectmonologue.blogspot.sg/2014/11/first-impressions-vitamin-science.html

You can read my full review on the Vitamin Science range that I tried,
credits to Luxola SG.

What I love about this serum is that it is super lightweight,
thus perfect for applying under makeup etc.
I love how easily my skin drinks the serum up, leaving it hydrated for the rest of the day.
A perfect serum if your main concern is on hydration.

#4. Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Gold Ultra Restorative Capsule Serum

I have recently been on a serum kick, as mentioned above.
& this was a gift from Elizabeth Arden while I was at one of their events.
I have purchased with my own money, another serum of theirs but have yet to try it.
However, when I first saw this serum in a capsule,
I immediately thought how inappropriate it would be for my skin.
Somehow it brought across the message that it was too strong or potent,
and definitely suited for more aging skin.
But, I decided to give it a go, & now I can't look back..

This serum is unique in the sense that it has a more oily texture to it.
However, the oil is easily absorbed into my skin within 2 minutes,
leaving it smooth, hydrated and just beautiful.
With this serum, I have finally seen a brighter side to my skin.
I have noticed a vast difference, as my skin looks more glowy, fresh & just more radiant.
& I am already on my 2nd set of sample size thanks to my girlfriend Ena,
who knows how much I love this product, & gave hers to me.

Definitely will repurchase this in the full size!
& I must admit, I am loving this serum more than the 2 I mentioned above.

#5. Biotherm Life Plankton Essence

The Biotherm Life Plankton Essence was launched in year 2014,
and I grabbed it while Sephora was doing a promotion,
after hearing other beauty bloggers & friends like Vinna that spoke highly of it.

For me, I didn't mind the cloudiness or milkiness of the formula.
However some people were more wary of the name itself.
Plankton? Life?

I found the product to be decently good, though a little stingy for my skin at the start.
But it was a joy applying it on after my toner, as a pre-serum booster.
A pre-serum booster is something like a toner, but provides better absorption for the products lathered on after.
Therefore, bringing you more efficacy in your skincare regime.
It also acts as a skin treatment that gives hydration to the skin.
All in all, a definite good product that can be added to your skincare regime.

#6. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask

I would say that the FAB Instant Repair Oatmeal Mask is one product that I have repurchased time and time again.
& guess what? It is forever sold out in our local Sephoras..
Therefore, I have even ordered it online on websites like beautybay.com especially when there are sales, & just literally stock them up.
(I have 2 instocks now)

This product has been featured time and time again on my blog.
And I love it for how great and affordable it is.
I often use this after my mud masks or clay masks like the Glamglow Youth Mud,
to restore moisture into my dry skin.
It is an easy way to soothe skin, & definitely suitable for all skin types, even dry skin.

It is comparable to Lush's Oatmeal Mask, but however does not have a short expiry date like the Lush ones. & definitely way more affordable for its size.
So if you are looking for a good calming, moisturising, gentle mask, this is the perfect one.

#7. SK-II Facial Treatment Gentle Cleansing Cream

I have gotten this recently in the deluxe sample size,
when I repurchased the Sk-II Facial Treatment Essence.
& I really did like it.
I have always believed in double cleansing, when it comes to removing my makeup.
Therefore, after removing my makeup with wipes, I will then proceed to slather this product on.
It helps to remove any traces of makeup or impurities left,
leaving my skin fresh & clean.

However, I will not repurchase this product as I do not think it is a necessity or must have.
I have however been loving the Clinique's version of the Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm,
as I feel it is stronger and more potent to be used on its own.

#8. Konjac Sponge by the Konjac Sponge Company

Konjac sponges have been the new rave about, after the Clarisonic & Luna was introduced.
Like both of the other mechanical tools, the Konjac sponge is a simplified version.
It originates from Japan, and is made from the root of the Konjac plant.

Introduced in the year 2014, I started trying out the product itself after hearing much good reviews, and coverage by websites and other beauty bloggers.
Feel free to read the article by Refinery 29 here-
http://www.refinery29.com/2014/01/59896/konjac-sponge#slide

Generally what this Konjac sponge does is to give you a better cleanse, than using our own hands.
It dislodges makeup, impurities, blackheads etc more efficiently.
I have since tried 2 kinds, the original & the Pink French Clay (for sensitive skin).
& I would say I like using it on an everyday basis, as it is less harsh on the skin,
as compared to the Clarisonic etc.
As a loyal fan of the Clarisonic, I would not say that this product replaces it.
However, it is a better option when used daily,
while the Clarisonic is used about 3 times a week on my end.

#9. Caudalie Graoe Water Facial Mist
My replacement for the Caudalie Beauty Elixir when it gets too expensive to mist on,
on a daily basis.
With less potency than the beauty elixir, this grape water mist is a good alternative,
if you are looking to add a little hydration to your skin.
I use this once I am out of the shower, and let it dry on its own.
I absolutely love both the product and the nozzle,
as it spritz out product evenly and very finely onto the skin.

Affordable, and decently good.

#10.  Sephora Instant Depuffing Eye Mask
http://theperfectmonologue.blogspot.sg/2015/01/december-beauty-favourites-2014.html

As featured on my December Beauty Favourites,
this product is one of my favourite eye masks.
However, the pricey tag to it means that I only use this product a few times a year.
At $10 for one sheet/session, this product does deliver good results.

It gives you awake, depuffed and refreshed eyes.
& somehow aids in my sleeping process, as once I put it on, I fall asleep almost instantly.
If you are looking for a good eye mask to pamper your tired eyes, this is the best that you can get.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I have come to an end of my Empties (II).
And I would like to apologise to my readers, if I have not been updating regularly.
As to be honest, I am going on a different path in life as of now & a few months later.
2015 has started off on a good start, and I might have a new career path soon.
Therefore, I would admit that I have sidetracked.
Do forgive me, and do check back often, as I promise to posts as frequent as I can.

Beauty, skincare, and makeup is my passion, and I will not give it up.
So do follow me on my Instagram (@clarabeltan) as I do post everyday!

Until next time,

(Sponsored) Lush Aesthetics LED Teeth Whitening- Pearly White Teeth!

Sorry for the long hiatus for about 2 weeks.
I was having a bout of writers' block & somehow lost my momentum.
But I'm back & I have some exciting news coming up!

But first, my review on Lush Aesthetics' LED Teeth Whitening!!

Lush Aesthetics is not a new name in the beauty industry.
They are well known for their facials, hair removal services & their teeth whitening services.
I have been pretty conscious about having a nice set of pearly whites since I was young.
I am a smoker (yes, I am letting you know this now), & also an avid coffee & alcohol drinker.
My teeth are something I am not very proud of cos' I have quite stained teeth.
When Lush Aesthetics contacted me regarding a Teeth Whitening review,
I immediately jumped on it.
I seriously would...

Why is it important to have pearly white teeth?
Well, I guess like what they usually say..
A good, beautiful, wide smile, can make someone's day, better.
But imagine what a set of disgustingly yellow stained teeth can only do?
(faint, maybe?)

So I was first briefed by the consultant and she took a good look at my teeth.
I have severe cigarette staining & also some brownish stains, closer to my gums.
I was then briefed that I was going to do a Peroxide treatment, 2 sessions of 20 mins.
(44% concentration)

Then I was brought to this small little room.
Small, but cosy, & temperature just right!

View from where I was lying..
So comfy (:

Oh, and did I mention how nice their staff were?
They were polite, kind, reassuring & super sweet.
She gave me a bell to ring if I needed anything, & checked on me every 5 minutes.

I have attached some photos of my session.
Beware, not a pretty sight!
You have been warned..

Notice the brown stains in between my teeth & also the gum area..
Yes, this was what I had to put on while I was prepping for the treatment.
I have not seen my mouth so wide open before..

Gums well protected with this blue cream.
Goggles are a must to protect you during the LED Treatment.
(Don't I just look gorgeous? NOT.)

& of course, the after treatment images.

The whole process was quite pleasant.
Other than the fact that I had to swallow my saliva cautiously,
else you'd swallow the gel/peroxide..
I did however swallow some of the gel by accident, & I'm still alive!
So it's nothing much...
Also, I felt no discomfort throughout the LED Treatment.
But a little numbness was felt right after the treatment had ended.
Nothing big, not much of fuss.
But yes, do observe to avoid smoking, drinking caffeine, carbonated drinks or colourful food,
like Curry, TomYam & Chilli, for at least 3 days odd.
Else, the effects won't be that pronounced.

A Comparison!
Both pictures were taken with the same lighting conditions, with no Photoshop whatsoever.
I am too lazy for Photoshop, so trust me, these photos are real.

According to the teeth chart, I was down 6 shades, and my staining was visibly gone.
Now, all I have to do is to keep them that way, & maybe go for a 2nd follow up in a few months.

For those interested,
the Peroxide-free  LED Whitening Treatment is going at $188 ONLY!
The no peroxide treatment is well suited for non smokers, or people with no stains on their teeth.
However, if you have stained teeth, a more effective treatment would be the one which has peroxide.
(Price: $500+, but note that dental clinics are doing the same procedure at twice the price!)

December Beauty Favourites 2014!!

Merry Christmas & an early Happy New Year to all of you!
It is the end of December, and also the end of the year 2014!
This marks the end of a good year for me, with many ups & downs,
but a generally good one for me.
I hope it is the same for you, & that 2015 would be a better, smoother year for all of us!

Today's post will be dedicated to the new products that I've been loving,
in the month of December.
Expect new things & maybe a few old goodies that never fail to disappoint me.

December Favourites 2014

#1. Guerlain Meteorites Perles, Light Diffusing Perfecting Primer

This product is a new love of mine.
I first bought this while I was in Paris for my graduation trip.
I bought it on a whim,
as I have always been someone who is obsessed with anything that makes me glow with radiance.
(Thanks to my dull & sallow skin.)

This product is ridiculously expensive, just like all the other Guerlain products.
(USD $73 on Sephora's website!)
But, they really do deliver and are super luxurious.
If you have the budget, and looking for a good primer (especially for dry to normal skin),
do give this a go.

The shimmers in it are so fine and no, you won't look like a disco ball, I promise.
Instead, you will have a beautiful glow/sheen when sunlight or light hit your face.
I use this for important events like a date night out, a party event,
just any important and high profile events.
Yes, because every pump is way too expensive.
The primer provides not only a glow, but also some subtle moisture.
It smoothens out the skin texture, and foundation is then applied on so smoothly!
Luxurious feeling at its best-

#2. NARS Lipstick in Niagara

This lipstick favourite came as a total surprise.
I got this as a gift from A a few months back, on a random note.
And at that time, the NARS Audacious lipsticks had just launched in Singapore.
& to be honest, I was upset that A didn't get the NARS Audacious lipsticks instead,
(You know how much I love those..)

But, it has since been my daily go to lip colour,
especially when I have light makeup on, or just couldn't decide on which lipstick to use.
It has a slight coral & peachy tone to it, with a light sheen.
Not matte, or drying, and provides subtle & sufficient moisture.
Wear time is limited to a good 2 hours or so, and requires frequent touch up.
But for the colour, I will be willing to touch up throughout the day.

#3. NARS Audacious Lipstick in Greta

How can I forget my holy grail status lipsticks from the NARS Audacious Collection?
I have recently gotten myself a total of 4 shades from the collection,
& I want more.
Period.

The formulas of this lipsticks are simply out of this world.
They last a super long time, & the wearing off is nothing but beautiful.
Fret not that your lipstick will be patchy & disgusting.
The moisture level in this lipstick is highly sufficient & does not dry out lips, AT ALL!

The packaging of this is so sleek & chic.
A simple black packaging with sufficient weight to it.
&  a magnetic clasp.
Something about that magnetic closure, makes me gasp in excitement.

Greta was the 2nd shade I got from the NARS Audacious Collection.
It is a slight blue toned, fuschia pink, that is bright but not neon bright.
With one swipe, the pigmentation is fabulous.
No need to go back and forth on your lips at all.
Applies like a dream, that is what it is.

#4. MAC Peachykeen (ol' favourite)

MAC's Peachykeen is the first blusher that I have hit pan on.
Yes, that says alot.
This is my everyday blush colour.
Regardless if I have light makeup on, a full face of makeup for a night out,
this is my go to blush.

It is a beautiful peachy pink, with a sheen to it.
With this blusher, you can definitely skip the highlighter, and just go to town with it.
I apply this with my Real Techniques contour brush for a more specific area kind of application.
& the lasting power of this is pretty deccent too.
No need for touch ups if you are out for about 4 to 5 hours.

A definite repurchase once I am done with it.
A big shout out to Alif, from Ion Singapore's MAC counter.
A splendid recommendation I would say as it suits my medium skin tone to a T.

#5. Inglot Gel  Eyeliner in no. 77

This eyeliner needs no introduction.
Before Inglot arrived at the shores of Singapore,
I have already heard so much about this eyeliner.
It is a much loved product by Make Up Artisites (MUA) & also Makeup Junkies.
& how could I miss out on this?
I got mine on a random short trip to KL, & this is what I have been using for the past few months.
With an angled eyeliner brush, or just any small eyeliner brushers,
this Inglot Gel Eyeliner can give you the best cat eyes within a second.

Super matte in formula once it dries & sets, & it doesn't budge.
Love this to death especially for beach parties, or just a long night out.

#6. Toofaced Shadow Insurance Eyelid Primer

Prior to this, I was using the Milani Eyeshadow Primer, and also the Zoeva Matte Eye Primer.
But somehow, I feel that it dries out the skin on my lids ever too often,
and the recovery process for that requires days & sometimes a week even.
So when I finally got to try the Toofaced Shadow Insurance,
I was blown away.

I love how the texture is creamy, yet light, and not drying.
It applies easily, therefore reduces any tugging on my eyelids.
& this is  a super important feature to prevent any wrinkles on our eyelids.

#7. Toofaced Chocolate Bar Palette

The Toofaced Chocolate Bar Palette.
Every girl knows about this palette, and loves how it smells of Cocoa.
I am one of them too.
Just months ago,
I got this online from Beautybay.com as Singapore was out of this at that time.

The colour selection range from a pastel light pink, a plum colour, & other darker shades.
I use Salted Caramel for my everyday crease colour- a simple subtle warm brown.
& also, Marzipan which is a beautiful glittery, light champagne colour-
perfect for a natural look and an overall eyelid colour.

However, as the palette is made of Cocoa powder,
it is slightly more fragile & crumbles easily.
Avoid using a wet brush or any setting spray on your brushes,
as it causes a clump in the eyeshadow palette.

#8. Urban Decay Naked 2 Eyeshadow Palette

I revisited this palette which I have gotten about 2 years ago, just recently.
Thanks to Vivianna & Lily Pebbles who love the shade Half-Baked.
Since the Naked 2 palette has it too, I decided to give it a go.
It gives the most beautiful glittery gold eyeshadow colour.
Pigmentation & wear time super decent.
Fall out for me is kept at a minimal as I often pat my brush a few times after dipping it in the palette.

I am also enjoying Chopper, which is a beautiful glittery warm brown colour.
The Naked 2 eyeshadows are pigmented, easy to blend, and creamy.

#9. Cle De Peau Teint Natural Fluide Foundation in B20

My current holy grail foundation that is on the luxury side.
It costs about $175 for a bottle.
But wwhat it gives in return, is pure magic & tons of compliments.

B20 has a pinky teint that provides a radiant glow.
Something I desperately need.
The wear of this product is amazing, and lasts for hours without having patches or any disllodging.
Coverage for this CDP Foundation ranges around the light to medium coverage,
but definitely buildable.
It gives a flawless finish with the Beauty Blender, & makes my skin look awake, hydrated & just beautiful.
I have gotten tons of compliments while wearing this foundation.
Though expensive, I think it is worth an investment, if you are looking for a luxury foundation.

A good base makeup, is everything.

#9. Dr Lee Ji Ham O2 Brightening Mask

This is my favourite brightening mask currently.
It is a thick fluid form that applies smoothly on the skin.
Upon contact with the skin, it becomes bubbles.
& fluffy bubbles starts to form after a few seconds.
After leaving it on for about 2 minutes, it can be easily washed off,
revealing more radiant skin.

However this product does not make you fairer or whiter.
It just allows more of your true skin radiance to peek through.
Good for a pick me up kind of treatment.

#10. Sephora Better Than A Nap Eye Mask

The Sephora Better Than A Nap Eye Mask was a favourite of mine since Sephora opened in Singapore.
However, they are super pricey, at $10 per piece/ one usage.
Therefore, I only get them when I have a 10% or even better discount.

It contains an eye mask that is only valid for one usage.
It is a gel like eye mask that is cooling to the eye area, & after 20 mminutes,
you will definitely feel refreshed, awake & the eye area plump & rejuvenated.
If you are preparing for a big day, like a big event or a wedding even,
try this out!

Just put it on for about 20 minutes while you rest your eyes,
& you will wake up feeling superb.
Not much done for my very dark eye circles, but I have felt a good difference in the eye area.
Supple, hydrated & refreshed.

That is all for now!
A 2014 Favourites blog post will be up very soon!

In the meantime,
Happy New Year & xoxo.
